Earlier this month, gear manufacturers Marmot joined forces with retailer and expedition specialists Adventure Peaks to open a new outdoor store in Ambleside.
Located in the heart of the Lake District, Ambleside is known as a hub for specialty outdoor gear and clothing, with thousands visiting from nearby climbs each year. But this isn’t just any outdoor store; above the shop sits The Ambleside Cave, the Lake District’s first indoor caving experience with 70m of tunnels and caving routes for visitors to try out.
The newly renovated Marmot outlet is located at the corner of Lake Road and Kelsick Road, next to Adventure Peaks’ main store, and the property has been upgraded to house two floors worth of products including men’s and women’s outdoor clothing, sportswear, footwear and plenty of Marmot equipment.
The official opening will take place on Sunday 25 August at noon, with live music and the opportunity to meet several members of Marmot’s climbing team, including renowned female climber Lucy Creamer.
