Everest Uncovered lectures

EverestLegendary Alpinist Kenton Cool and Senior Mountain Guide Lakpa Rita Sherpa are set to hold a series of lectures this autumn, giving both a western and Sherpa viewpoint of what it’s like to climb the world’s highest mountain.

The evening lectures, entitled ‘Everest Uncovered’, will take place between October 22 and 25, with the Sherpa Adventure Gear athletes travelling first to Edinburgh before heading to Manchester and London.

Using their 28 combined summit successes of Mount Everest, 11 for Kenton and a record-breaking 17 for Lakpa Rita Sherpa – who was recently named Adventurer of the Year 2013 by Outside Magazine – the men will discuss the history and future of the mountain, in addition to relaying their own first-hand accounts of how it feels to reach the top of the world.

Tickets cost £10 and can be ordered online.
