International Mountain Guide Andy Townsend and The North Face athlete Andy Houseman are to give a series of winter skills talks later this month, helping hill walkers and climbers to stay safe this winter.
Taking place on January 29 and 30 in Ellis Brigham’s Manchester and London stores, the evening events will see the climbing duo give crowds expert advice, instruction and inspiration on winter mountaineering and Alpine climbing.
Topics will include how to select the correct equipment for your expedition, key fundamental skills to help climbers and hill walkers avoid potential dangers on the mountain, and help with everyday situations from how to fold a map in a gale to what to do when you’ve abseiled down the wrong cliff.
Tickets cost £8 with all proceeds going to the Glenmore Mountain Rescue Team.
