T&M reader team tops out on Mera Peak

1 - Mera Peak summit

On 10th April, 10 of Trek & Mountain’s Khumbu 3 Peaks 2016 team topped out on Mera Peak (6,476m), with a further teammember topping out on Mera’s trekking peak. Conditions were cold and windy but the views from the top were spectacular. The team descended to Mera High Camp before continuing with porters/tents down to the Mera La and all the way down to Chamlang Base Camp.

During the course of the four-week expedition, the team aim to climb three 6,000m peaks – Mera Peak, Island Peak and Lobuche East – in what is the most ambitious reader expedition run by T&M so far.

The team have been making good use of their Montane Black Ice 2.0 Jackets featuring PrimaLoft DownBlend technology (see several members wearing them in pic) provided by the expedition sponsors, as well as Montane Prism Gloves also featuring PrimaLoft insulation.

Next up, the team take on the mighty Ampha Labcha Pass – the gateway to the Khumbu, and the second of the 6,000m peaks, Island Peak! We’ll bring you more news as we have it…
