Scarpa Mojito Bio £140
Based on their original Mojito, the Mojito Bios are Scarpa’s first 100% biodegradable shoes that, at the end of their life, leave no traces of plastic in the environment as they break down. The Presa Spyder Bio sole consists of a medium density plant-based biodegradable EVA midsole, and tread made with a biodegradable compound, which includes natural rubber. We’ve found them to have impressive grip and while out walking, we’ve found them to have enough cushioning to walk a fair distance over easy terrain, though they are not necessarily ideal for long hikes or rough walk-ins. The knit upper is lightweight and is very breathable, making them extremely comfortable in warmer conditions. Aside from the materials we’ve already mentioned being better for the environment, the Mojito Bios are also constructed using only water-based, non-polluting adhesives. Even the packaging uses recycled paper. They are suitable for vegans as they don’t contain any animal products.

Alpkit Roundhouse £399.99
The Roundhouse from Alpkit is a luxurious 4-person organic cotton bell tent using sustainable, long lasting materials. Highly breathable polycotton canvas maintains a comfortable climate of fresh air day and night, staying cool in the heat and warm in the cold. Alpkit are committed to only using cotton from organic or Better Cotton Initiative-certified sources which is why they’ve used 100% organic cotton for the Roundhouse. As well as being free from harmful fertilisers and pesticides, organic cotton uses significantly less water and produces lower levels of greenhouse gases. The big advantage of polycotton canvas is that it creates a far nicer internal tent atmosphere for living and sleeping in. Polycotton breathes much more effectively than pure polyester or nylon, providing better air quality and significantly reducing condensation. This keeps Roundhouse at the perfect climate for living and sleeping in. Thanks to the cotton, it stays cool in hot weather and traps more heat when the temperature drops.
