Registration for this year’s Arc’teryx Academy, held from June 16-19 in Chamonix, will open on Tuesday, March 15th from 11am GMT.

You may have read about last year’s Arc’teryx Academy in Trek & Mountain, when we accompanied participants on the ‘Basic Mountaineering’, ‘Advanced Technical Alpinism’, and ‘Overnight Bivy’ clinics.

The four day event starts on Thursday with a with a mountain clean-up, where participants will join certified mountains guides and over 20 international Arc´teryx athletes to collect rubbish on the mountain, a collaboration between the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy and the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc. The following three days will be jam packed with clinics on the mountain, as well seminars, a movie night and an academy dinner. All workshops are led by professional mountain guides from the ‘Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix’, the ‘British Mountain Guides’, Chamex Guides and Arc´teryx Pro Athletes like Ines Papert, Luka Lindič, Stian Hagen and many more.

Some new clinics that have been added this year include ‘7+ Climbing’, an advanced rock climbing course led by Nina Caprez and ‘Boudering’ held by Mina-Leslie Wujastyk. Last year, Arc’teryx added ‘Alpine Skiing’ to the list of clinics, and this year they’ve added ‘Splitboarding’ as well, which will be led by Arc´teryx athlete José Carron. Women-only clinics include ‘Ice Climbing for Women’ and the ‘Women’s Glacier Tour’.

There are too many clinics to list but you can head over to their website for full details, and don’t forget to mark March 15 in your calendar as, like always, these clinics are likely to book up quickly.
