Basecamp Gear is a venture concerned with the supply of camping equipment designed to be used in remote places where quality and reliability are paramount. As our name suggests we supply equipment designed for extended stays in places accessed using vehicles or with limited trekking involved, from the Lake District to the Himalayas.
Icicle Mountaineering
Icicle was founded back in 2000, and we offer guided adventures to climb, trek, ski, and run, in mountains all around the world. We are based in Windermere, in the heart of the Lake District National Park, where we have a course base and shop. We focus on offering instructional courses to help build people’s autonomy, and are proud to be a small specialist company which has a very personal approach.
Hilleberg the Tentmaker
In 1973, Bo Hilleberg and his wife Renate introduced the first Hilleberg tent. Today, Hilleberg has over 60 employees and nearly 40 different tent models, but it is still proudly a small family company, with a dedicated hands-on style using a unique blend of old school craftsmanship and technical innovation.

Hanwag, based in the Bavarian town of Vierkirchen at the foot of the Alps, has been producing high-quality outdoor mountain and trekking boots for more than 90 years. Founded in 1921 by Hans Wagner, the company is steeped in heritage and continues to combine highly prized, traditional construction methods with up-to-the-minute innovations and advanced components.
