Richard Parks has announced his upcoming project to become the first person in history to collect a blood sample and muscle biopsy from the summit of Mount Everest, which he aims climb without using supplemental oxygen. Youngest Brit to complete solo South Pole trek

30-year-old Luke Robertson from Edinburgh has completed a solo, unassisted and unsupported expedition to the South Pole, skiing across Antarctica for 39 days, becoming the youngest Brit and first Scot to complete such a journey. Robertson reached the South Pole at 2.30am after spending 39 days alone, dragging 130kg of equipment for 730 miles across snow and ice, with temperatures plummeting below -50C and winds reaching 100mph. Tom Ballard joins Montane athlete team

Tom Ballard, 26, has joined big wall climber Andy Kirkpatrick, mountaineer Jon Gupta and expedition photographer Martin Hartley, among others, as one of Montane’s sponsored athletes.
