Outdoor Show 2014 highlights: Force Ten Alpine Packs

ForceTen_pack

Force Ten’s big story at Outdoor was the release of their first pack range – the sleek, no-nonsense Alpine Packs – which will come in 25L, 35L and 45L versions.

Sure to appeal to mountain professionals as well as leisure mountaineers and climbers, the Alpine Pack is a tough yet lightweight design, which can be lightened further by stripping off the waist belt, compression straps and gear loops. Total weights are 0.9kg (for the 25L version), 1kig (35L) and 1.27kg (45L).

The main fabric is a tough 500-denier corder nylon, while seams are taped and zips are water-resistant, meaning the Alpine Pack should prove ideal for damp British crags as well as alpine adventures. The lid is fixed and opens outwards, while the side compression straps that run through webbing on the front can be removed if not needed.

For such a robust pack, prices are very keen at £80 for the 25L version, £90 for the 35L version, and £100 for the 45L version. We reckon these will sell like hotcakes when they become available in spring next year, and we will hopefully be getting our hands on the Alpine Pack very soon to see if it is as good as it looked/felt on the stand in Germany.
