WIN a Mountain Hardwear Rainshadow 36 OutDry pack!
Waterproof packs are a real bonus when walking or trekking in variable weather conditions – such as the UK – and mean you don’t have to faff around with rain covers or protecting the contents of your pack in drybags. The new Rainshadow pack from Mountain Hardwear is not only waterproof, but durable too, and this month we are giving away packs to two lucky readers!
The Rainshadow is the latest addition to Mountain Hardwear’s range of packs that use OutDry, the bonded membrane unique to Mountain Hardwear that makes it both waterproof and durable. The Rainshadow comes in two sizes, a 26 (£85) and 36 litre (£100), so is ideal for those looking for a waterproof and lightweight pack for all day hiking and traveling.
Rainshadow technical backpacks are ideal for weekend warriors who don’t always have the luxury to wait for the perfect day. This 36L pack has a waterproof main compartment that was rain-room tested so it’s good to go for biking, hiking and trekking when you want to keep your gear safe and dry. And when you do get caught in the rain, you can stuff your damp layers in the front stash pocket, which features drainage so you’re never bogged down. There’s even a quick-dry mesh across all contact areas on the shoulder straps and back panel.
WHAT IS OUTDRY?
The OutDry 3D construction process applied to backpacks allows absolute waterproofing without affecting functionality, look and weight. How does it work? OutDry technology uniformly laminates a custom-shaped waterproof membrane to the inner surface of the pack, sealing fabrics and seams in a single step. The result is a waterproof, steady 3-layer construction – outer fabric, membrane, mesh lining – all elegantly incorporated into the Rainshadow 26 and 36 packs.
