'Kili The Hard Way 2013' trek – last few places

In January 2013, Trek & Mountain magazine will be embarking on its first ever reader expedition, to trek up Kilimanjaro…the hard way.

Taking place on 19-30th January, 2013, the expedition will be tackling the Umbwe/Western Breach route – the steepest and least-trekked route on Kilimanjaro. This route is very much ‘off-the-beaten-track’ and is trekked by just a few hundred people each year – consequently we will encounter very few other people once on the mountain. Although it’s the toughest way to trek up the mountain, it doesn’t require any technical climbing ability – just a good level of fitness and determination.

The trek is being organised by RJ7 Expeditions who offer a top-quality, ethically-sound service on Kili, with some of the best ground crews and guides in the business. Despite this, we are able to offer a superb package for the money, with many added extras including:

  • Acclimatisation climb on Mt Meru
  • Snowdonia training weekend (Nov 17-18th)
  • Complimentary kit courtesy of expedition sponsor Helly Hansen
  • 10 complimentary copies of the issue of ‘Trek & Mountain’ the trip features in
  • ‘Kili The Hard Way’ expedition T-shirt and baseball cap
  • Appear in your favourite magazine!

The price of the expedition – including all meals, flights, transfers and guiding, but excluding insurance – is £2,995 per person. Or if you’d like to organise your own flights, the cost will be £2,200.

The trip promises to be an amazing adventure and a special experience for everyone that takes part. There are only 3 places remaining, so if you are interested please contact us without delay. If you would like to see a detailed itinerary for the trip, drop us an email on [email protected] – if you would like to discuss the trek with RJ7 Expeditions staff, or book your place, call them on 0844 264 0001 now.
We look forward to welcoming you onto the team!
