Icicle was founded back in 2000, and we offer guided adventures to climb, trek, ski, and run, in mountains all around the world. We are based in Windermere, in the heart of the Lake District National Park, where we have a course base and shop. We focus on offering instructional courses to help build people’s autonomy, and are proud to be a small specialist company which has a very personal approach. We take great pride in our guiding and resort teams, whose local knowledge and mountain knowledge is second to none. It allows us to really support each of our clients, and we are highly aware that in the mountains every single client has individual needs, strengths, aims, weaknesses, ambitions, and goals. We care about each one.

As we near our 20th anniversary, we remain proudly independent, and are still run by the original founders. Over the years we have become acutely aware of the effect of climate change and environmental impacts in the world mountains. In our home mountains of the Lake District, we donate 5% of courses there to the Fix the Fells scheme, to help protect the mountains for future generations. The aim of Icicle is the same as it always has been; to offer you great and innovative trips that we would dream of going on ourselves.
