Target Dry have announced the launch of a new range of hiking/trekking socks that use cocona as part of the fabric mix. The Walk Lite and Hike Lite are the first two models in the Xtreme range of socks, with an all-season sock – the Trek Comfort – due later in the year. All models use a blend of merino wool and cocona-infused synthetic materials, the advantage of cocona being twofold – firstly it helps water evaporate quickly, so is good for wicking, and secondly it helps deal with nasty odours.
Though not the first brand to use cocona in socks generally (there are several socks in the running market already), as far as we are aware Target Dry is first to market with a hiking/trekking sock that uses cocona. We will have samples in our hands very shortly, so look out for a review soon!
