Black Diamond have two new headtorches out – one all new for 2012, and one an update of an existing model. The redesigned Icon is intended to provide maximum lighting in any weather condition and features balanced batteries in a completely waterproof housing. It has a meaty 200-lumen output and is equipped with one Quadpower LED, two Singlepower white LEDs and two SinglePower red LEDs. Settings include full strength in proximity and distance modes, dimming strobe, red night vision and lock mode. The Icon is protected against water immersion down to 1m for 30 minutes and also features a three-level power meter which displays battery life for three seconds after switching on. This is a robust and powerful piece of kit which is easy to use and built to last.
New for 2012 is the Spot, which looks ideal for any fast paced activity with its sleek low profile design, light weight and exacting array of lighting modes. It provides 90 lumens of light output with TriplePower LED, two SinglePower white LEDs and two SinglePower red LEDs. Settings include full strength in proximity and distance modes, dimming, strobe, red night vision and lock mode and it is also protected against water sprayed from any angle and has the same power meter as the Icon.
