Live in the south east and fancy combining a challenging walk (or run, if you prefer) with raising funds for good causes this September? Well, the Shere 40k should be right up your street then. A unique cross-country race featuring more than 1500m of ascent – including the highest point in south-east England – the Shere 40k Multi Terrain Charity Event promises to be a fun and challenging day out for walkers and runners.
The route, which will lead trekkers across the peak of Walbury Hill (297m), has a 12-hour time limit and will start at 9am in the village of Shere on September 15th. The circular track will allow teams of up to three people to take in Surrey’s beautiful countryside – and funds raised will go to Help for Heroes among other charities.
Supported by Trek Hire UK – who lease hiking equipment and clothing to aspiring trekkers worldwide, the event will have only 600 places available. Prizes for the winning teams will be accompanied by spot prizes, refreshments, drink stands and children’s entertainment throughout the day. To register for the event, just click on the link below and fill out an entry form. See you there!
