The trailer for the next cinematic epic from Leo Houlding and Alastair Lee can now be viewed at www.thelastgreatclimb.com
In the film, Houlding and his climbing team of Jason Pickles and Sean Leary travel to the Antarctic to attempt to scale the NE Ridge of Ulvetanna (‘The Wolf’s Tooth’) which is the hardest climb on the most inhospitable continent on Earth.
The film is not due out until November, but we spoke exclusively to Leo Houlding this week at a special event organised by main sponsors Berghaus, and we will be posting the video of that interview here in the next few days. In it, Houlding talks about the incredible organisation needed to mount such an ambitious expedition, the research and technology that went into making the Berghaus clothing that was used on the trip, and about the climb itself which he says is like nothing else he has ever done and is the toughest challenge he has undertaken to date (and that’s saying something, if you consider the Mount Asgard and Autana projects).
We’ll be bringing you lots more news, interviews and info about the expedition and the gear they used in the coming weeks and months, and don’t forget to check back in the next few days for that exclusive interview with Leo, which (with any luck – Al?) will also include a few clips from the film itself.
