The line-up for this year’s Buxton Adventure Festival has recently been announced, with 10 speakers from the world of mountaineering and adventure travel set to inspire crowds.
Held in the heart of the Peak District, the weekend-long event will begin on November 2 and will feature live lectures, a big screen cinema, ‘Young Adventurers’ launch evening, an outdoors photography exhibition, family-friendly action-packed films, a junior aquatholon, orienteering, an alpine workshop and more.
Speakers will include British Mountain Club Hill Walking Officer Carey Davies and outdoor writer and photographer Chris Townsend, British Mountain Guides Mark Walker, Jon Morgan and Al Powell, Team GB Mountain Biker Annie Last, Ultra-runner Jez Bragg, adventurers Jason Lewis and Rosie Swale-Pope, and climber Heather Dawe among others.
Festival PR, Lissa Cook, said: “Between them, our intrepid line-up have pedalled, paddled, climbed, hiked, run, skied and even dog-sledding all over the world. We hope the speakers and films at the Buxton Adventure Festival will inspire people to enjoy the outdoors – no matter what their age or ability – and encourage them to set themselves challenges – no matter how big or small.”
Adult tickets are £10 per session, which includes a talk and adventure film.
Multi-buy saver sessions are available for £25.
