Trek & Mountain has teamed up with the organisers of this year’s SHAFF event (Sheffield Adventure Film Festival) to sponsor their Mountain Films section.
The festival, which runs from 20-22nd March in… well… Sheffield, showcases a wide range of adventure sports, including climbing, mountaineering, skiing, boarding, running and mountain biking, and visitors can see a huge number of recent and brand new films during the weekend.
For Trek & Mountain readers, the Mountain Film sessions which we are presenting include some real gems, such as ‘Arctic Air’ a film about ski mountaineering in East Greenland, ‘The Frozen Titans’ about Helmcken Falls in Canada and Will Gadd’s obsession with climbing there, and ‘The Ridge’ which is a short taken from a full-length film out later in the year shot in Denali National Park.
If you didn’t make it to the Kendal Mountain Festival last November, SHAFF gives you another chance to see some of the films premiered there, such as ‘Jeff Lowe’s Metanoia’, ‘Redemption: The James Pearson Story’ and ‘Valley Uprising’, a history of climbing in the Yosemite Valley – and we would certainly recommend catching all of the above.
There’s so much going on at SHAFF you need to visit their website to fully appreciate the range of films on offer – so head over there and book yourself a weekend of adventure!
