When the devastating earthquake hit Nepal back in April, Sherpa was quick to act, doing their part to help with the relief efforts.
Sherpa shifted their focus and paused their regular production to make waterproof high quality tents and blankets in their factory, as well as providing other supplies such as medical supplies and pieces of tarpaulin which they ordered from India. They also created a fund called ‘Help Sherpas Help Nepal’ which has raised over $200,000.
Aside from relief efforts, Sherpa aims to help with the rebuild and to continue to train and empower local people with jobs, education and opportunities to rebuild their communities. They also would like to encourage people to continue to visit the Himalaya, as tourism remains a vital industry in Nepal.
Sherpa has now announced that in September they will be launching a limited edition t-shirt with proceeds going directly to the relief efforts. Keep watching and be sure to get yours while they’re available.
