Community Action Nepal are proud to present a new lecture series by Stephen Venables entitled ‘Life After Everest – The Adventure Continues!’
During the show, which will be illustrated with stunning images, Venables will tell tales of adventures around the world, including his escape from death in the Indian Himalaya when an abseil anchor failed and he fell 300 feet, finding himself on a remote glacier at 5,800m with two broken legs.
Other stories will include first ascents in Nepal (including climbing a new route up Everest, reaching the summit alone without oxygen and surviving a record bivouac above 8,500m), rock climbing from the Arctic to the Namib Desert, and sailing expeditions to the coastal mountains of Tierra del Fuego, South Georgia and Antarctica.
Venables has climbed with legendary figures such as Chris Bonington, Reinhold Messner and John Roskelley.
Part of the proceeds from the talks will go to Community Action Nepal.
