Want to do something extra-ordinary in 2016? Well why not join Trek & Mountain’s reader expedition to Nepal, during which the team will be trekking to, and climbing, not one – but THREE – 6,000m peaks?!
Leaving the UK on 30th March 2016 and returning on 27th April, the Khumbu 3 Peaks team will be flying to Lukla and straight into Sherpa country, before setting out to climb three of Nepal’s most famous trekking peaks – Mera Peak, Island Peak, and Lobuche East. The expedition will be a wonderful mix of mountain scenery, Sherpa culture and teamwork as the 14-person team takes on this formidable challenge.
This really is an adventure of a lifetime, and as an added bonus the team will be tackling two of the peaks in the company of an Everest summit team (including 360 Expeditions founder Rolfe Oostra) who will be using the peaks as acclimatisation for their attempt on Everest in May.
The team is nearly complete, with 11 men and 2 women already onboard – we have room for just ONE more fit and motivated individual to join the team, so if you are interested then get in touch with us NOW. The requirements for prospective team members are that you are hill-fit and a team player, though previous high altitude experience would also be an advantage. The peaks we are attempting are non-technical, however ice axe and crampon skills are necessary – if you don’t have experience in this area, you can either learn during the trip or sign up for a course during our 2016 Winter Meet in the Scottish Highlands – details of which are HERE.
