This ‘Round the Peaks’ trek on Mount Kenya is arguably one of the most beautiful expeditions in the mountains of East Africa. The 7 day trek will take you to the summit of Point Lenana at 4985m (the third highest point) and continue around the base of the majestic peaks of Nelion and Batian.
The ascent of the mountain is along the Chogoria route, which is generally the driest route and the most scenic, taking in spectacular views of the Gorges valley and Lake Michaelson along the way. This trip allows time to acclimatise, and time to explore some of the areas along the way, such as the Parklands. The circuit is justifiably a magnificent tour to complete offering ever new views of the summits, glaciers and tarns with their unique high altitude vegetation. We then take the descent via the Sirimon Route through beautiful forest tracks to complete the traverse of the mountain.
