Alpkit, the UK-based outdoor clothing and equipment manufacturer, has chosen Polygiene to treat its best selling range of base layers.
Alpkit’s Koulin Trail Tees are designed for “anyone who works hard, and sweats harder”. Now Polygiene’s Permanent Odour Control technology has been added to the fabric production process; promising the final, sweat-laden garment will stay pong-free, wear after wear.
The addition of Polygiene also means Alpkit’s Koulin base layers don’t need to be washed as much, backing the company’s commitment to the environment and Polygiene’s “wear more, wash less” mantra.
The Koulin is a lightweight, technical base layer with a design focus on breathability and an exceptional ability to wick moisture away from the skin. Add to this the fact it’s also fast drying and sports a stylish anatomical fit and you have the perfect performance tee for anyone working up a sweat outdoors.
Available in four different designs for either men or women, it comes with short or long sleeves, crew neck or half zip. And is competitively priced at between £18 and £24, depending on the style chosen.
Polygiene Permanent Odour Control is a silver chloride treatment made from recycled silver from electronic waste. It inhibits the growth of viruses, bacteria and fungi and the odour that arises from them; yet is safe and comfortable to be worn next to the skin. Bluesign approved, Polygiene meets the highest environmental standards and lasts as long as the garment does, so it never has to be reproofed. With washing and drying accounting for two-thirds of the environmental impact of a product, the anti-odour treatment helps saves water, energy, time and money as well as improving the product’s lifespan
