The brilliant Alpkit Big Shakeout – a weekend of adventure in the Peak District – is back this autumn!
Do you want to climb, ride, hike, abseil, kayak, bushcraft, listen to live music, cave, run, hear inspirational talks, camp, slackline, sail, swim, watch adventure films all in one weekend?
The Alpkit Big Shakeout is back for 2021. The weekend of adventure and entertainment takes place at the Thornbridge Outdoors Centre in the Peak District from 24th-26th September.
The format is simple, be active during the day and be entertained in the evening. If you have a taste for adventure, want to be inspired and try something new the Big Shakeout is for you. It’s a not-for-profit festival run by Alpkit staff, the outdoor retailer, with all proceeds donated to the Alpkit Foundation. This is Alpkit’s independent charity set up to remove barriers to getting outdoors and experiencing wild places.
Day activities include wild swimming, learning the art of tarpology, mountain biking, food foraging, kayaking and axe-throwing. When the sun goes down you can watch adventure films, listen to live music or simply chat with new and old friends around the campfire.
