Legendary polar explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes has teamed up with leading British alpinist Ian Parnell to present a new speaking tour which will see the duo recount extraordinary memories from expeditions across the globe. Kicking off in Salford, the tour will run until July 13th, with locations including Cambridge, Birmingham, Cardiff, Harrogate and Inverness.
Sir Ranulph has undertaken and led more than 30 expeditions, most memorably a 53,000 mile odyssey through the north and south poles in the first polar circumnavigation of the earth, the first crossing of Antarctica, the Arctic Ocean and the first crossing of the Antarctic continent by foot. He is also renowned for climbing both Mount Everest and the North Face of the Eiger.
Parnell, who will interview Sir Ranulph during the tour, filmed Fiennes on his first attempt of Everest in 2005 and also his successful summit of the Eiger. He has made significant first ascents in the Himalayas, Greenland and the Alps in addition to many technical winter ascents in Scotland.
