Up for a challenge? Then join us on the first ever Trek & Mountain reader expedition…
In January 2013, Trek & Mountain will be embarking on its first ever expedition, to climb Kili… the hard way.
Taking place on 19-30th January, 2013, the expedition will be tackling the Umbwe/Western Breach route – the steepest and least-trekked route on Kilimanjaro. This route is very much ‘off-the-beaten-track’ and is trekked by just a few hundred people each year – consequently we will encounter very few other people once on the mountain. Although it’s the toughest way to trek up the mountain, it doesn’t require any technical climbing ability – just a good level of fitness and determination.
The trek is being run by RJ7 Expeditions who offer a top-quality, ethically-sound service on Kili, with some of the best ground crews and guides in the business. We have teamed up with RJ7 and expedition sponsors Helly Hansen to offer a superb package, with many added extras including:
- Acclimatisation climb on Mt Meru
- Snowdonia training weekend (Nov 17-18th)
- Complimentary kit courtesy of expedition sponsor Helly Hansen
- 10 complimentary copies of the issue of ‘Trek & Mountain’ that the trip features in
- ‘Kili The Hard Way’ expedition T-shirt and baseball cap
- Appear in your favourite magazine!
The price of the expedition – including all meals, flights, transfers and guiding, but excluding insurance – is £2,995 per person. Or if you’d like to organise your own flights, the cost will be £2,200.
‘Kili The Hard Way 2013’ is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and is sure to be an amazing experience for everyone that takes part. There are only a few places left on the trek, so if you are interested please contact us without delay. If you have any questions or are unsure about your fitness/experience levels, drop us an email at [email protected] and we will respond by return. If you are confident in your ability and would like to reserve your place (10% non-refundable deposit) just call RJ7 Expeditions on 0844 264 0001.
We look forward to welcoming you onto the team!
All the best,
