Ski mountaineer wanted for Greenland husky expedition

Have you ever wanted to experience an arctic lifestyle, working in close quarters with huskies in the remote glacial mountains of Greenland? Renowned expedition dog musher  and Rab Professional athlete, Gary Rolfe, is seeking an elite expedition ski-mountaineer to spend two years working and travelling across Greenland.

Travelling across 1500 miles in the company of dozens of huskies, the 2014 Greenland Journey will require an extremely high level of fitness and prior knowledge of crevasse skills; however no previous dog handling experience is necessary.

Training for the unpaid position will begin in winter 2013 and Gary states that applicants must be primed and ready for challenging expedition work, with dedication, honesty and integrity being key elements for anyone ready to take part.

Gary spent a number of years in Arctic Canada before moving to Greenland. He currently lives and works in the remote Ittoqqotoormiit settlement in eastern Greenland, one of the country’s most wild landscapes, with 18 of his own dogs.
