Signed mountaineering print up for auction

TaskerBoardman RESIZED
A photographic print signed by a bevy of British mountaineering greats is currently being auctioned to raise funds for the Boardman Tasker Prize.

The print displays features Peter Boardman and Joe Tasker resting at 28,000ft during their ascent of Kangchenjunga, with Mount Everest in the background.

The prize, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, awards grants to authors who have ‘made an outstanding contribution to mountain literature’, and was first established to continue the legacy of Boardman and Tasker after they failed to return from an expedition to Everest in 1982.

Signed by three members of the original team to summit Kangchenjunga in 1955 – Joe Brown, George Band and Tony Streather – as well as Doug Scott (who took the photo) and Chris Bonington, the high-quality framed print will be auctioned by email, and sold to the highest bidder on September 15 this year.
