Kicking off on October 2 in Lancaster, before journeying to Sheffield, Aviemore, Loch Lomond, London, Penrith, York and Bristol among others, the tour will consist of more than 25 UK evening film screenings featuring alpinists, adventurers and climbing icons as they take on life affirming challenges which are sure to inspire and entertain.
This year’s films will include: ‘High Tension’, the inside story of alpinists Ueli Steck and Simone Moro’s controversial climbing incident on Everest which saw them attacked by a group of angry sherpas while attempting a new route on the mountain, ‘Spice Girl’, a preview of the life and accomplishments of British climber Hazel Findlay as she tackles the bigwalls of Taghia Gorge in Morocco, and ‘The Sensei’, which follows 43-year-old Yuji Hirayama and boulderer Daniel Woods on an expedition of a lifetime at the summit of Borneo’s Mount Kinabulu. Also showing is ‘The Stonemasters’, a feature documentary about the climbing scene in Yosemite during the last 50 years and the tensions between climbers and park rangers.
