A charity lecture led by the head of the British Mountaineering Council will take place later this month, with proceeds going towards a conservation charity.

Held in Sheffield, the talk will detail BMC Chief Dave Turnbull’s recent climbing expedition to Patagonia, during which he journeyed to the Fitzroy and Cerro Torre massif, accompanied by mountaineers Stuart McAleese and Dan Donovan. BMC Head for more than a decade, Turnbull has climbed in over 20 countries but is best known for his routes in Scotland and South West England.

Funds raised will go to Friends of the Peak District, a charity working to safeguard the landscapes of Britain’s first National Park. The lecture will be held at the Lescar Pub in Sharrowvale Road on November 26.

Tickets cost £5 each.
