New leader for Mountain Rescue team

LAKES RESIZED 2
A mountain rescue team in Cumbria has a new team leader.

Stepping up to the role is Dave Howarth, who replaces former leader Eddie Harrison as head of the Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue team.  Howarth thanked Mr Harrison, who resigned from the role after four years as head of the team, for his contribution and commented that he would aim to build on the team’s professionalism and capabilities in order to move forward and deal with future challenges.

Tony Womack and Kath Jackson will act as deputy team leaders of the Kendal volunteer squad. Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue are one of just 12 teams covering callouts in the Lake District and Cumbria, all of which are funded by voluntary contributions.
