French mountain sports brand Quechua have introduced the new Phone 5’’, a smartphone developed especially for use in the mountains.
Quechua describe their phone as ‘mountain-proof’, but what exactly does that mean? Well, the shock and weather resistant model features more than 30 inbuilt applications designed for trekking and mountaineering, has a quadcore 1.2 GHZ processor for fast navigation, and is compatible with every phone operator. Quechua claim the five-inch screen can be read easily in direct sunlight, thanks to the phone’s enhanced backlighting, and is big enough to comfortably read a map. Further features include a long battery life, compass, barometric altimeter, GPS, five megapixel camera, 3G connectivity, bluetooth, accelerometer, micro sim, micro USB and micro SD ports and access to over 975,000 apps.
The phone is now available online and in stores.
