Calling all mountain writers

MOUNTAIN PIC 2
Do you dream of becoming an outdoor writer? Do you have an exciting mountaineering story to tell? Enter this year’s Mountain Writing Competition for the chance to win a cash prize and see your name in print.

First established in 1987 by the Mountaineering Council of Scotland, the competition is open to all UK residents. Entrants can choose from several writing styles in which to tell their story including fact, fiction, prose or poetry, but all content must relate to mountains, mountaineering, rock or ice climbing, walking or ski-mountaineering.

Along with a cash prize, winners will get the chance to see their entries printed in the Scottish Mountaineer, the Mountaineering Council of Scotland’s quarterly magazine, and on the MCofS website. Winners of the prose and poetry categories will also receive a free weekend pass to this year’s Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival.

Full competition details can be found on the website below.
Competition closes on August 31.
