Lowe Alpine backpacks have an enviable reputation as some of the best around, and when reviewed in Trek & Mountain they have consistenly scored at, or near, the top in our Group Tests. So we are delighted to be able to offer one of Lowe Alpine’s superb Expeditions packs in this month’s competition.
A true expedition load-carrier that combines light weight, comfort and durability, the Expedition 75:95 backpack is ideal for big mountain treks and climbing trips. It weighs just 2.5kg, amazing for a fully-specced backpack that will carry 32kg in comfort. The Expedition uses Lowe Alpine’s new Axiom+ back system which adjusts for a perfect fit, with a rotating hipbelt that allows for natural body movement. The back is a smooth, single-piece moulding with lumbar support. Lowe Alpine says the TriShield nylon ripstop fabric is the strongest they’ve ever developed – a silicone treatment in the coating reduces the friction coefficient between fibres, increasing tear resistance by 20%. Well thought-through features include two load-lifting handles to help your mate get the pack on your back when fully loaded, reinforced exterior lash points and a removable 3 litre lightweight summit/hydration pack which mounts inside the backpack body.
