Registration for the fourth annual Arc’teryx Alpine Academy, which runs from June 12–14, opens on March 17. The popular event gives aspiring alpinists from around the world to join a range of technical sessions aimed at all skill levels.
Just a few of the clinics offered include: First Aid and Basic Rescue, Suunto Navigation, Alpine Photography, Glacier Tour of Vallée Blanche, Overnight Bivy, Dry Tooling and Mixed Climbing, Basic Mountaineering Education and Advanced Technical Alpinism.
Aside from the many skills clinics, participants will also have the chance to demo gear and participate in a movie night and evening seminars. Additionally, people may arrive a day early to join their Mountain Clean-Up Day and receive a free lift pass and lunch.
Over 400 participants from more than 20 countries met in Chamonix for last year’s event. There were also over 60 mountain guides from the association of British Mountain Guides and Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix and international pro athletes.
In previous years, tickets for the clinics – which offer exceptional value – have been snapped up quickly, so we recommend you don’t hang around booking yours if you are considering going.
