St Curig’s Church is a quirky and wonderful self-catering property in the heart of Snowdonia. A great place to stay for a training or teambuilding weekend, a first aid course or an outdoorsy stag or hen do. It’s probably true to say that there’s nowhere else quite like this in Snowdonia. Ancient and modern stylishly combine in this beautiful home set within a 19th century church in the village of Capel Curig.

Where else can you sleep beneath a carved stone pulpit, enjoy a hot tub under the stars or play table tennis beneath a fabulous 19th century mosaic ceiling? And all with lovely views of Snowdonia’s mountains from every window. The church has two four poster double en suite bedrooms, two twin en suite rooms, another twin and a bunk room that sleeps four. It also has a couple of trundle beds that can go in any room or a sofa bed in the main living area. The kitchen is very large and well equipped with seating for 16 and downstairs there is a fantastic area with a grand piano, pool table, table tennis, three sofas and wood burner. The property has a 3/4 acre walled garden and a hot tub that looks towards the Snowdon Horseshoe which is great after a long day in the mountains.

The church is a few hundred meters from the national mountain sports centre Plas y Brenin.  Local activities include caving trips with Go Below, the fastest zip wire in the world is 8 miles away and can be booked through Zip World (make sure it’s the Velocity one). Another exciting attraction is Surf Snowdonia and also Bounce Below which has huge trampolines inside underground caverns. The local area has climbing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, horse riding and canyoning.

The local pubs the Bryn Tyrch Inn and Tyn y Coed Inn can provide take away food or big trays of prepared dishes but this needs to be pre-ordered. Tesco’s and Sainsbury’s deliver to the church for food and drink orders. Catering options available and musicians and photographer for events.
