We have a men’s and women’s Montane insulated jacket featuring PrimaLoft ThermoPlume insulation to give away!
Synthetic insulation has undergone something of a revolution in recent times, and PrimaLoft’s ThermoPlume has been at the forefront of a new breed of down-like insulation made of synthetic fibres. Launching last year in Montane’s Phoenix (men’s) and Icarus (women’s) jackets, this innovative insulation is now available in lightweight versions of the Icarus and Phoenix Jackets, named Icarus Flight and Phoenix Flight.
Combining ThermoPlume synthetic insulation with Thermo Stretch Pro fleece panels for enhanced thermal performance and articulation in alpine conditions, the Icarus Flight and Phoenix Flight jackets can be used either as a midlayer in cold conditions or as a stand-alone outer. On the outside of the Icarus Flight and Phoenix Flight jackets is a featherlight mini-ripstop 20D fabric with DWR to keep moisture and light rain at bay. On the inside there’s 135g of PrimaLoft ThermoPlume insulation which gives comparable warmth/weight performance to down insulation, but has the advantages of synthetic insulation: it’ll continue to keep you warm even when it gets wet, and will dry out much more quickly than down. The construction of the Flight jackets is the familiar micro-baffles seen in lightweight down jackets, and the hood is also insulated and intended to be worn underneath a helmet. There are two zipped handwarmer pockets and one internal zipped pocket for keeping valuables, and the articulated arms allow excellent movement when climbing.
