Synthetic insulation provides a high-performance alternative to natural down, it was designed to mimic the look and feel of natural down with all the benefits and none of the drawbacks. It retains two times the loft of down when wet, breathes superbly, has no allergens, retains warmth even when wet (more so than Hydrophobic down), compresses easily, and dries exceptionally quickly. The uppers are made from recycled 30D Pertex Quantum, a tough nylon fabric with a ripstop weave and a tough abrasion and water-resistant outer. For underfoot comfort, you get a nice soft EVA sole covered with tough nylon and grippy silicone traction print. The EVA foam not only protects the sole of your feet from objects sticking out of the ground it also reduced heat loss, keeping your toes nice and toasty. An elasticated opening keeps out any drafts and the webbing pull loops just make it a bit easier to pull them on if you’ve got cold fingers.
