The Mount Everest Foundation (MEF) are offering expedition grants to climbers who wish to make ascents in remote, unexplored and expensive mountain ranges, with £60,000 set aside for successful applicants in 2014.

Thanks to funds donated at the MEF’s 60th anniversary celebrations  this year, the foundation can now offer multiple grants up to a total of £60,000, with a small number of expeditions being sought for consideration in 2014. Applicants should intend to undertake expeditions in remote locations, to carry out unexplored objectives and to which the extra funding would be vital to the trip’s success. Entrants can choose from any destination where the cost of climbing is high, including Antarctica, China, Far West Nepal or Sikkim, Indian Karakoram.

Grant requests can be made online via the Mount Everest Foundation website.
