Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Sheffield Adventure Film Festival, with more than 100 adventure sports films from award winning filmmakers set to grace the big screen.
Held at the Showroom Cinema & Workstation and Sheffield Hallam University Campus, the festival will take place from 4 – 6 April with a weekend packed full of short and feature length adventure, travel and extreme sports films from around the globe.
This year’s films will include Reel Rock: High Tension, an insight into the Everest ascent of Ueli Steck and Simone Moro during which they were attacked by a crowd of angry Sherpas, Assault of El Capitan, the story of the second ascent of ‘Wings of Steel’ by Ammon McNeely and Kait Barber and a look into the controversial history of the first ascent 29 years ago, and 75 Never Too Old, which follows farmer Jeremy Trumper as he sets out to conquer The Devil’s Tower in Wyoming.
The festival will also play host to a number of expedition workshops and outdoor speakers, including mountain runner Emma Clayton, adventure film maker Alastair Lee, climber James Mchaffie, fellrunner Steve Chilton and award winning cameraman Gavin Newman, who will share their stories of life both in front of and behind the camera.
