Arc’teryx’s Lakeland Revival – which is all about encouraging people to get out climbing on the hidden classics of the Lakes – will be taking place for the fifth year running from 5th May to 31st August, 2018.

The event revolves traditional climbing, especially in this part of the country, has played a huge role in the development of climbing as we know today. Arc’teryx Lakeland Revival is open to all abilities throughout the summer. To get involved participants must collect a route card from one of the designated retailers (Needle Sports, The Climber’s Shop and George Fisher), then climb one of the listed routes in exchange for an Arc’teryx T-shirt, beanie or DMM carabiner.

The Big Mountain Weekend, is returning to Langdale – 5th – 6th May, to launch Arc’teryx Lakeland Revival. The event aims to educate, share and improve skills necessary for enjoying the mountains and crags safely.

The weekend will be based around a series of clinics headed up by the International School of Mountaineering. There are three new workshops; ‘Building safe anchors and setting up top rope’s, ‘Getting to know Traditional climbing’ and ‘Rescue Technique’s’. With a 50% increase in clinic places, this year proves to be even bigger and better.

New for this year and free for all is ‘the Langdale Climbing Challenge’, open to all abilities. Participants are invited to choose anything from our hand-picked Langdale hidden classics route card; a single climb or a full day mountain link up. Everyone that takes part will receive a free limited edition Lakeland Revival DMM carabiner.

Over the weekend there is also a free adventure film night, live music, a photo competition, demo gear to test and expert advice from Arc’teryx, DMM, Tenaya, Beta Climbing and NikWax.
