Former ice climbing world champion and renowned mountaineer Ines Papert will tour the UK this winter as part of her new Harbin Roadshow – a series of multimedia lectures and stunning outdoor photography featuring Papert’s latest climbs in Harbin, China’s north eastern capital of ice.
Papert will begin the UK based part of her Arc’teryx-sponsored tour at the Kendal Mountain Festival in November, before heading to Ambleside, Hathersage and London to give the 90-minute presentation on her summit trials and triumphs, the loneliness and hardships of the mountains and her personal development from competitive climber to professional mountaineer.
Photographer Franz Walter, who accompanied Ines to China, will display his photographic exhibition of her skilled climbing, while Papert speaks of her spectacular excursion to Harbin’s artificial ice world where everything from castles to cathedrals are built from solid ice.
