Arc'teryx Alpine Arc'ademy returns

After its successful premier last year, the Arc’teryx Alpine Arc’ademy will once again attract mountaineers and aspiring mountaineers to Chamonix in June for three days of pure alpinism in the heart of the Alps with events and workshops for beginners to professionals.

Taking place high above Chamonix on the Aiguille du Midi on June 14-16th, the Alpine Arc’ademy is a weekend for all those at the beginning of their alpine career – or those wanting to improve their skills and share their passion with others. Participants can choose from a broad spectrum of clinics including a new special addition this year: Alpine photography with top photographer Alexandre Buisse. Alpine professionals and the Arc’ademy’s host brands will guide participants through the three days covering topics such as equipment choice, alpine tours, alpine climbing, high altitude medicine, mountain rescue and the ups and downs of alpinism in all its variations. Guests can test the latest equipment, extend their skills or learn more about injury prevention or caring for climbing equipment during the lecture night.

A round-table discussion with some of the world’s best alpinists on the topic of ‘What is alpinism today’, should rouse debate, followed by a spectacular film evening at the Alpine Movie Night. Another goal of the event is to provide participants with a better understanding of individual security and expertise in the mountains to allow them to experience the joy it can bring in a safe setting. Mountain guides from the local Compagnie des Guides; and Arc’teryx athletes including Ines Papert, Will Gadd, Nina Caprez, Luka Lindic will support the participants with both words and actions.

A new, additional service is installed at the valley station of the Aiguille du Midi gondola this year – the new repair center offers possibilities for alpine equipment repair and care for all Alpine Arc’ademy guests.Press Release
