When Frederick Ellis Brigham first opened his shop in 1933 in Harpurhey, Manchester, he probably had little idea that mountain sports would experience the explosion in popularity that it has today. He was a visionary, establishing the shop as the place to be for those who wanted their outdoor boots expertly made and fitted. As the interest in outdoor sports grew so did the demands of mountaineers and hikers for equipment that performed. Ellis Brigham was always first to sell the latest innovations for outdoor usage, seeing clothing move from Ventile to neoprene coated nylon and then to GORE-TEX fabrics.
Over 80 years on and Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports is still going strong and is still proudly family owned. We’ve got the world’s best brands and the products that will make your time spent in the mountains even more rewarding.
