On Saturday October 5th, skiers will be given the chance to experience all the Backcountry has to offer at the UK’s best indoor snowslope. The Discover Backcountry day, created by Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports, is an event designed to pack in as much inspiration and advice about skiing in the Backcountry into one day as possible.
The day is purely focused on backcountry skiing/touring with loads on offer, suitable for those with little or no experience through to those with lots. All talks and workshops are free, the only charges are for slope time if demoing equipment or taking part in on-slope training sessions.
Courses and coaching – Practise touring techniques (including skinning) with help from qualified guides, full day course available for novices with Blair Aitkin, improve your skiing with New Generation Ski School instructors.

Talks on – Equipment (shaving weight), Technique (terrain choice, avalanche awareness, companion rescue practise), Trips (BC skiing in Scotland, Sail&Ski Svalbard).
