Featuring innovative Pertex Diamond Fuse technology, we have one of OR’s excellent new Helium Wind Hoodies to give away this issue…
For those in the know, a wind jacket is one of the most useful layers to have in summertime, both for keeping the wind off and protecting against the sun on hot days. Not only are they lighter than fully waterproof shells or softshell, they are super breathable, quick-drying, and pack down really small when you don’t need them. In short, every hiker, runner and climber should own one!
This issue we have an Outdoor Research Helium Wind Hoodie, worth £100, up for grabs, from the company’s best-selling and award-winning Helium Collection. Highly weather protective but very breathable, the Helium Wind Hoodie takes the tried-and-true windshell concept and boosts the durability for demanding high-exertion pursuits. Built using a lightweight, minimal and clean silhouette, it adds exceptional ruggedness thanks to Pertex Diamond Fuse 30D fabric, which is far more durable than the fabrics normally used for windshell. Every effort has been made to keep this 150g windshell nimble, including an extremely low-profile peripheral adjustment in the hood, which uses a side-to-side simple but effective webbing cinch.
A womens version is available with slightly different specification; it has a Krypta Crop stretch woven fabric at the hip for a close-to-body fit and a lower right zipped front pocket. A size medium women’s shell weighs 232g.
