Arc’teryx Climb Academy returns to Lake District

Arc’teryx have announced the return of the Arc’teryx Climb Academy Lake District from May 25-27, 2024. Set in Great Langdale in the heart of the Lake District National Park, the boutique-styled Academy brings together world-class athletes, top-certified guides, and brand partners to deliver a range of clinics, workshops, and a supportive climbing experience no matter if you’re new to the sport or pushing your limits.

Climbing education is at the heart of the Academy, with transformational clinics for all skill levels. From Bouldering for Beginners to Rescue Techniques, Multi-pitch Rock Climbing and Fine Tuning your Lead Climbing, the clinic programme features a wide range of climbing activities spanning trad, sport, bouldering, and more.

Alongside the clinics, the Arc’teryx Climb Academy promises a packed daily program of free activities and experiences for everyone. Located at the Sticklebarn pub, the Academy Base Camp is your place to grab a beer, share a story, watch inspiring films, listen to live music, and find your community – all centred in an unbelievable outdoor setting with full camping facilities.

“The real adventure of climbing is accessing the beautiful and wild spaces that we have here in the UK. It’s the fresh air, open sky, weather and views. It’s the stronger relationships built through those outdoor experiences, adventures and climbing on real rock where the joy lies. The Arc’teryx Climbing Academy in the Lake District is an opportunity to try climbing outdoors for the first time or develop your existing climbing skills and gain confidence, so that over time you can build your independence in order to ‘go it alone’!”

Adrian Nelhams, ISM Director & IFMGA British Mountain Guide”

Arc’teryx will once again be offering camping at this year’s Climb Academy, accommodating a maximum of 80 small camping pitches suitable for tents up to a maximum of 3 people. The campsite would make a great base for a fun weekend during the whole festival and enable you to just relax and enjoy all the events without the worry of having to drive anywhere. The campsite is situated in a field adjacent to Lanty Slee’s at the NT Sticklebarn which is the Arc’teryx Academy Basecamp for the weekend.

Workshops, Film Night & Live Music – the one-of-a-kind Base Camp at the Sticklebarn pub is your place to join the climbing community after a day at the crag. Get hands-on with Arc’teryx products, browse partner stands, enjoy delicious food and drinks, watch exclusive film premieres, and take in athlete talks. Nestled in the heart of Great Langdale Valley, and surrounded by the region’s craggy hillsides, the cozy pub is the heart of the Climb Academy Lake District. Set up camp, connect with other participants, world class athletes, and professional guides, and take in the transformative experience.
