Krakow Mountain Festival 2013

Krakow Mountain Festival Resized
This week sees the Krakow Mountain Festival take place, a three-day long mountain-themed event packed with talks, discussions, mountain films and more.

Now in its 11th year, the festival will take place in Poland’s second largest city from December 6 – 8, while playing host to elite climbers from around the world including alpinist Leo Houlding, big wall climber Mark Synnott and Polish mountaineers Marcin Tomaszewski and Rafal Slawinski. Himalayan climbers Adam Bielecki and Artur Malek will reveal all behind their recent Broad Peak expedition, while Andrzej Bargiel will share an insight into his ascent of Shishapangma.

Held at the Krakow University of Economics, the event will give crowds the chance to watch  the latest international mountaineering films, take part in a panel discussion regarding the recent events on Broad Peak and the future of the Polish Winter Himalayan Climbing Programme, or shop for outdoor apparel at the outdoor clothing and equipment fair. The festival will also host the finals of the Polish Bouldering Cup.
