Held every November in the Lake District, the Kendal Mountain Festival features hundreds of film screenings plus numerous speakers and guests.
Festival organisers have revealed some of the big names that will make an appearance at the festival. Tommy Caldwell, who made headlines last year for free climbing the Dawn Wall with Kevin Jorgeson as well as the completion of the Fitz Traverse in Patagonia with Alex Honnold, will make his way to Kendal this year.
Redpointing Rainshadow at Malham Cove just days before his 49th birthday in June – his second route graded 9a – Ben Moon will also make an appearance.
They’ve also added two more Specialist Sessions to the mix: the Black Diamond Rock Session and the Petzl Alpine Session, for which Petzl will bring along Nina Caprez who will share her stories from the Patagonian and Kyrgyzstani mountains to sport climbing around Europe and the USA.
Adventurers will include Sean Conway and Nicky Spinks, with more to be announced. Films will include new films featuring Leo Houlding, Matt Helliker, Jon Bracey and Natalie Berry. There will also be art exhibitions, literature lectures, the RAB Party plus the Boardman Tasker literary prize. And there will be lots more to come!
Trek & Mountain will be there as a Media Sponsor so be sure to stop by the stand to meet some of our staff and to pick up special offers on subscriptions and back issues!
